A year ago, Toyota made public its Hiace at 2014 Auto Expo. In recent times, this year, this automaker has also uncovered one more version of van at Bus and Special Vehicle Show in Delhi. According to some trusted sources, when Toyota Hiace would be launched in India, it could be priced above 40 Lakhs. According to the Director of Marketing and Sales of Toyota, N Raja, the Toyota Hiace would be such a van which will be fully-loaded so that the steep pricing would be completely justified.
However, there are definitely some chances of lowering its price in future because this new van will not be locally-build version, it will be imported from Japan as a CBU by the mid-time of this year that’s why the vehicle would dear to the buyers. But, when it would be built in India, it would definitely be made available at an affordable price.
As the vehicle would have ten seats so that it could be registered only as a commercial means of transportation in India. As the vehicle will be registered as commercial, so company is aiming for fleet operators. If we talk about the powertrain, it will be incorporated with the 3.0 liter diesel engine; it is the same engine which has been incorporated with the Fortuner SUV. It would also be incorporated with four-speed automatic transmission. It would be featured with the steering and the windows operated by the power. As well as, the audio system will also be equipped with the CD and USB compatibility. Some other features that you will notice in this van are rear defogger, ABS, rear-view camera, and dual front airbags. The van launched some time before will be incorporated with the similar features, as well as the similar powertrain too.
