Debut of Land Rover LR3 was held in April 2004 in North America. LR3 became the first joint development of Ford and Land Rover after the British company has become a part of Ford Motor (summer 2000).
Dimensions of the body are 4835/1915/1887 mm, the base is 2885 mm and the wheel track is 1605/1613 mm. Curb weight of the car is 2.5 tones and with a full load it can be increased to 3.2 tons. Luggage capacity is 1260 liters (with folded rear seats - 2476 liters).
The basic version is designed for 5 passengers. There is a modification with a 7-seater interior with third row of seats, which can be folded if it\'s necessary. LR3 is well equipped. Interior is spacious, comfortable and ergonomic. The driver\'s seat has been slightly elevated for a better visual control of the wheels. The second and third rows of seats are located higher than front seats. The spare wheel is located in the floor. The upper part of the back door is elevating, and the bottom one folds as a sideboard.
4-liter gasoline V8 16V (216 hp, 339 Nm) of Ford production is offered as a basic.
The car accelerates to 100 km / in 8.8 seconds, top speed reaches 190 km / h and fuel consumption is 11.6 liters in the country and 20.9 liters in the urban cycle.
Transmission is represented with a permanent all-wheel drive with electronic control, locking center differential and locking rear differential. The equipment of the LR3 includes a proprietary Terrain Response system with five operating modes that optimize traction and performance characteristics, the level of suspension stiffness and clearance, depending on the condition of the road surface and the characteristics of ground cover. With a flick of a switch you can select the desired mode: and three variants of off-road (earth, sand, stones).
Complex of safety systems include ABS, EBD, ESP DSS system, rollover protection ARM, variable speed traction controls of wheels ETS, as well as front, side and curtain airbags.
