Nissan’s high-end luxury brand Infiniti has just unveiled the ESQ. It is expected to be made available for purchase in China in the current calendar year. It is basically a repackaged version of the original Nissan juke Nismo which was earlier on sale in the international markets.
The ESQ has been endowed with the Juke Nismo’s 1600 cubic centimetre capacity direct-injection engine, which has been turbocharged to create 197 bhp of power and 25.4 kilograms of torque capacity. The engine has been combined with a CVT enabling a powerful four-wheel drive emission.
Prior to the facelift, the Juke Nismo’s engine was perceived to be good enough to produce a 0-100 kilometre per hour acceleration in a sprint time of only around 7.8 seconds, as well as a reasonable top speed of 216 kilometre per hour.
In terms of interiors, the ESQ has retained the older cabin design and layout of the original Juke, in addition to its information and entertainment systems. Even luxuries such as the climate control functions and the three driving modes, including the likes of Sport and Eco functions has been replicated for this reprised version. One amongst the spate of several new models to be introduced in the Chinese market, the Infiniti ESQ will help Nissan to accelerate its continued push into the Chinese market.
