New Audi Quattro will be built on A6 model’s base
New Audi Quattro will be built on A6 model’s base

According to the Autobild publication, a powerful new sports car Audi quattro concept is based on a business model A6. It could debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show already, which is pretty good news for every Audi fan out there.

New Audi quattro Concept is shown on the illustration prepared by Autobild. We remember the 30th anniversary of a proprietary all-wheel drive Audi Quattro concept car with the same name its predecessor had. This vehicle was first shown at the Paris Motor Show of 2010 and managed to impress many people out there. Some journalists were even allowed to test the car on the move back then, the fact that only strengthened the faith of fans in the future of this model’s series. But since that time three years have passed, and no sign of Quattro becoming a serial car are seen on the horizon. Was the project terminated before it even started? Well, not exactly, the authoritative German magazine Autobild reports that the revised Audi sports car concept along with its prototype, should debut in a month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The first thing to be said is that, according to Autobild, quattro has significantly grown up. The original concept was built on a shortened RS5 coupe base and consisted of 4.28 m in length (which is normal for Golf class hatchbacks), but supposedly had a new architecture based on a business model A6. Curiously, remodeled quattro, which is 4.6 meters long from nose to tail, will most definitely be as light, its dry weight is supposed to be 1200 kg. This is also despite the fact that inline five-cylinder engine will not be located under the hood of the upcoming new model. Instead, it will receive a heavier model with 600 hp of capacity four-liter twin-turbo V8, which is the exact engine placed on large S-and RS-modifications and some Audi Bentley models.

New Quattro will also become more dynamic. While the previous version accelerated up to 100 km/ hour in 3.9 seconds, new model will make the same time in 3 seconds. Maximum speed is not limited and will be more than 300 km/hour.
